Is the PC Serial Port standard or optional?
The PC Serial Port is standard.  Along with an RS-232 connector and the free software, you can link your PC to the GS-1000A analyzer and upload data for storage and plotting over a wide range of sample rates.  A limited amount of data can be stored in the unit itself and gas, AFR, Lambda values and troubleshooting modes are displayed conveniently on the front of the analyzer.

Is the software standard or optional?
The software is included in the price for the base unit.  All software upgrades are free.  Back to top 

Is connection to a PC, needed to view data?
No, gas, AFR, Lambda values and troubleshooting modes are displayed conveniently on the front of the analyzer as well.  However, to plot and store data permanently, the data must be uploaded through a connection to a PC.  See also question 1.)   Back to top

Which gasses does each model measure?
All three models (i.e., 4, 5, & 6 exhaust gas analyzers) measure 4 basic gasses needed for gasoline and diesel exhaust gas analysis.  They are, VOC (or HCs), NOx, CO2, and CO.  The five (5) exhaust gas analyzer also measures O2.  The six (6) exhaust gas analyzer measures both O2 and H2S along with the four basic gasses.   Back to top

How can I use the gas data for troubleshooting?
Potential engine performance problems or vehicle system problems associated with known ratios and levels of the exhaust gasses measured, can be displayed to assist the user in identifying areas to evaluate, adjust and or repair.  You can see a list of these potential problems on the bottom left of each model page.


Are the GS-1000A series gas analyzers portable?
Yes, you can power the analyzers using a car lighter adapter for road testing, or an AC outlet for shop or laboratory settings (requires optional 12VDC/battery option).  Back to top

Can the GS-1000A series be used for Diesels?
Yes, all three models can be used to measure diesel exhaust gasses.  The six (6) exhaust gas analyzer model with the Smoke Opacity sensor option is recommended for use in the full range of diesel applications.    Back to top

How will my order be shipped?
All domestic orders ship Fedex or UPS ground.  International orders ship UPS, or Fedex  international or DHL International.  Back to top

Are their additional charges for international orders?
Yes.  International customers are responsible for all customs duties, fees.  Additional shipping costs may apply for international customers that order online, as the shipping fees embedded into to the shopping carts are intended for domestic customers.  International customers will be notified as to the additional shipping costs after their order is processed.   Back to top
